Absolutely superb game. Had an absolute blast playing it, nice mechanics and style, a decent challenge (and of course the comms are hilarious and so charming) - I can't really think of anything to say that hasn't been mentioned in the previous comment. Hope to see more stuff happen!
(was sad when couldn't climb ladders though...)
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE THIS A FULL GAME!
Starting off I've played a stupid amount of Time Crisis so the homage warms my heart a bit. The specific enemies and the attack patterns of the boss made me feel like I was playing a fun modern take on Time Crisis.
The dialogue is my favorite part! The pure chaos and funny lines had me smiling and laughing while dodging bullets. Often catching me off guard at the absurdness. When I first heard the dialogue I thought "Maybe they are just placeholders" and the more I played the more I enjoyed every bit of audio.
You left me wanting more levels and bosses to fight. So really you guys did an amazing job! You delivered way more fun than I was expecting!
Constructive Feedback wise here are a few things
- Maybe add in a slide feature to help dodge bullets
- The shipping container section of the second level was the most difficult part to be honest. It could have been the limited amount of ammo mixed with a longer distance and larger spray area. After a few tries I was able to make it through!
-I often found myself stuck reloading infront of the enemy with my metaphorical pants down. Maybe up the ammo by 2-4 shots. Could help reduce the pants down effect.
- Spatial audio in the sense of Audio being lower when an enemy is further away I think would help with the dialogue that talks over each other making it incoherent at times.
- I know this a early build but adding a bit more stylized hud would go a long way. I imagine model/environment and hud details would be added if you worked on this project further.
In conclusion PLEASE MAKE THIS A FULL GAME! I would gladly pay for a fleshed out title based off of what you've done so far. KEEP THE COMEDY!I really believe many people would enjoy this! You've earned a follow and I'm hoping for an update in the future!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, your comment made my day! The title wasn't meant to be a reference to Time Crisis, but in hindsight thats a much cleverer idea XD. I just couldn't come up with a consistent theme or idea of this game while developing it.
I don't really like doing level design, but I concidered doing a level design jam with some of my friends to make more levels for this game. I'm not sure we will ever get around to doing that though. I really enjoyed programming the boss, I would love to be able to make more of them at some point.
A sliding mechanic would be good, and would add to the parkour/platforming experiance I think. If I was gonna add more content, I would probably also add more weapons and add grenades and health items.
Yeah the audio and UI could probably use some work. Theres lots of settings in unitys audio system and I don't really know how I'm supposed to be using things like spread. The idle dialog/response system was something I implemented pretty last second, if were to do it again, I would probably make it so asking a question is on global timer so they wont overlap. I could also make some soft global queue for the combat vocal barks to stop them talking over each other. UI is another one of my weaknesses, I'm not really sure how I would make it look good, so I tend to focus on polishing up the gameplay and mechanics instead.
I would love to make and release a longer FPS game at some point in the future, because these are great fun to make. It probably wont be this exact game, but I imagine it would have a lot of the same mechanics!
